•What is included in the cleaning?
This voucher is for up to 4 hours of cleaning or housekeeping services, you can use it anyway you'd like. Most people want a general outside surface cleaning and sanitizing of their home, which includes all kitchen and bathroom surfaces wiped and sanitized, furniture dusted, rooms picked up and tidied, floors swept moped or vacuumed if you have a vacuum, linens changed, beds made if you'd like. If there's time left we will do the inside of the microwave as well. if your home is larger you can purchase additional time for more rooms, if it's smaller you can add other tasks like inside the fridge, clean the oven, organize closets and cabinets, wash inside a few windows, we can even make you dinner. It's all according to what time allows and how much time you purchase. We'll be realistic about the time together, of course we can't do 8 hours of work in 4 hours- but we will work with you on your priorities so you can have the kind of service that works best for you and your home.
•Will you come to other areas not in Brooklyn or Manhattan?
Yes, we service all 5 boroughs of New York plus Jersey City and Hoboken. Unfortunately, this voucher is only good for Brooklyn and Manhattan, but even if you don't have a Voucher, you are welcome to call and get a free estimate in our other service areas, and because you are a Living Social Subscriber we will give you a 20% discount off of our Living Social Rate for your first cleaning.
•Can you clean special items, or special areas in my home?
We are a custom green cleaning service and we can clean anything - we never charge by the task or the job - we only charge a regular hourly rate- so choose how much you want us to get done, and we'll help you create a plan!
•Can you only focus on one room for 4 hours (i.e. kitchen)?
Sure, if you have 4 hours of work to do in one room, no problem. If you need organizing or degreasing in the kitchen, we can do that. Kitchens are usually the most time consuming rooms, we do custom cleaning, so we can get creative and do it any way you like!
•Are there any additional costs?
No, as long as you schedule a day time appointment and you supply the basic hardware. Your general 4 hour cleaning is all inclusive. You already know that Tipping is separate and most people tip on the true price of the cleaning. If we schedule a cleaning after 10 pm you must send your Cleaning Specialist home in a Taxi for their safety. That’s it!
•Some Services charges extra for pets --Is there a pet fee?
We decided that since not ALL pets shed badly we will waive the pet fee. If you have any pets that do shed ( and you know if your place is extra hairy ) It will require more time to do a thorough cleaning. We will adjust your task list to allow time for pet hair removal. We usually like to allow an additional hour of time for pet hair removal. However, Living Social customers will receive a 20% discount on any hours purchased during their first cleaning.
•I have more than a 1 bedroom apt- will 4 hours be enough?
While it's not necessary to purchase additional hours and we can set up a realistic priority list for the tasks you want to have done in 4 hours, most people purchase 1 additional hour for a second bedroom and bathroom, and 30 minutes for each additional bedroom thereafter. You may also add time for special tasks like laundry or cooking, you can purchase as much additional time as you choose. Additional hours are discounted by 20% for Living Social Subscribers.
•How much should I tip?
This is a service business and most people tip accordingly - somewhere between 15 and 20% is average - if you love your Cleaning Specialist and you have a wonderful cleaning ( and we think you will!) Tip accordingly on the non-discounted amount, to show your appreciation, in cash directly to your Cleaning Specialist.
•How do I pay the sales tax?
It's easy, just give your Cleaning Specialist $6.65 in cash to cover the sales tax, and they will bring it in to the office. The sales tax on a $75.00 voucher is $6.65. If you choose to give $7.00 we will donate the aditional change to the ARBOR PLANT A TREE Foundation and reforest the American Woodlands.
•What supplies do I need to provide?
Your only responsibility is a mop and bucket, broom and dustpan, trash bags and paper towels, a step stool or ladder if you have high ceilings and If you have a pet or carpeting you should also supply a working vacuum.
•How many people come to clean?
It depends on our schedule and your time needs - anywhere from 1 person to 4 people, and we may also send a supervisor to check the work. We measure time in work hours - so 2 people for 2 hours equals 4 hours of labor.
•Can we use the 4 hours for something else (organizing, laundry, etc)?
Absolutely! We love special projects and do them for most of our clients. We can even be the wait staff at your next party. Just ask your Client Care Specialist when you call to schedule your appointment.
•Our apt is small- can we split the 4 hours between 2 appointments?
Your voucher is for 1 appointment only, but because we are a custom cleaning service not only do we clean deeper (and that takes more time) but we also provide organizing, laundry, ironing, cooking etc.
•Can you clean my oven?
Absolutely, if you make that a priority we will start there and spend the rest of your time on your other priorities. And we will use our Amazing Earth Friendly World's Best, Great Green Oven Cleaner!
•Is this available to current customers?
Yes. Even though the purpose of this voucher is to introduce new customers to our Fabulous Earth Friendly Cleaning Service, our customers may purchase a voucher - we hope that you will give it as a gift to someone you love, since you already know how wonderful we are.
•Can I combine my Voucher with other offers or dicounts?
Your Living Social Voucher may not be combined with any other discount, coupon, offer of free hours, or percentage off offer.
•When I am ready to book, how do I schedule my appointment?
Have your Living Social voucher number ready when you call. Simply call 718-499-6229 between the hours of 11 am and 7 pm . A Client Care Specialist will check your voucher, give you a free estimate and set up your service appointment. Appointments are scheduled on a first come first served basis.
•What are the Great Green Cleaning terms I need to know about?
